Inspired by the Sylvia Plath poem "Daddy" this is an unusual portrait of the poet. Painted in a reclaimed quality ceramic dinner plate the opening stanza of Daddy are painted on the rim winding around to portrait of Sylvia in profile and her ex-husband Ted Hughes inset (as a vague shape).
Daddy was seen as a problematic but powerful poem a fact I've always had difficulty reconciling.
It's a solid traditional round dinner plate with a diameter of 25cms and a depth of 2.5cms and is best enjoyed as an artwork rather than serving ware.
Although the paint has been heated and cured the plate should be gently hand-washed so its colours stay vibrant. It should be hung or displayed using a large plate bracket with padded hoods.
This item has been hand-painted so features different textures and unique variations
