Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas painting titled "Lewis"

This piece was named after Lewis the Koala that was heroically rescued by a woman during our devastating NSW bushfires in 2019. The woman witnessed the koala struggling his way through burning embers to reach safer ground, before taking off her own shirt to pick him up and get him to much required medical help. Unfortunately Lewis was too badly wounded to survive, so I named this piece "Lewis" as a tribute to him.

All of my paintings have an extremely high level of attention to detail. When studying a subject I analyse every single aspect of it, including texture, shine, reflection, shadows etc. When most people view my art in person for the first time they usually comment on how much detail is in it and how it looks so much better in person.

A koala is one of Australias biggest icons in my opinion.

Framed by myself in Tasmanian Oak and cleared with a matt clear to compliment the bushland feel of the piece.

Artist Bio

I'm a mum to two young children, I paint or draw every chance I get. I began drawing horses and cartoon characters such as Garfield when I was 12 back in 1992. I am self taught and it has always been my passion and my dream to be a successful, professional artist.
I'm inspired and driven by nature, our Australian beaches, landscapes, wildlife and modern architecture. I have a passion for fine art and fine details as I feel it brings art to life and I have more recently discovered a love for capturing emotion in my work. I put my heart and soul into every piece and I always try to add interest into my drawings and paintings wether it be from up close or far away. My 2 main mediums are mostly acrylic or oil on canvas or coloured pencil, but I'm not afraid to experiment with new media, techniques, subjects and textures. I also work with resin and a bit of fluid art when I feel like loosening up and experimenting a little.
