Artwork Description

My inspiration came from the Spiral Aloe plant named Aloe Polyphylla. I fell in love with these plants the first time I seen them with their vibrant green tones, spikes and the way they grow in a spiral. I have 2 of these in my garden that grow in opposite directions to each other.
During our COVID19 lock down period I felt the urge to paint something around my home. I couldn't find anything more perfect to paint at the time but something with healing properties as the world needs a great deal of healing due to COVID19.

This piece was hung in MAC Gallery at Lake Macquarie for the reconnected exhibition 2020. An exhibition inspired by reconnecting and recovering after a period of isolation during COVID19.

Add virbant green tones to your room to compliment any existing decor.

All of my paintings have an extremely high level of attention to detail. When studying a subject I analyse every single aspect of it, including texture, shine, reflection, shadows etc. When most people view my art in person for the first time they usually comment on how much detail is in it and how it looks so much better in person.

Framed in a raw timber wrap around frame to compliment the organic feel of the painting.

Artist Bio

I'm a mum to two young children, I paint or draw every chance I get. I began drawing horses and cartoon characters such as Garfield when I was 12 back in 1992. I am self taught and it has always been my passion and my dream to be a successful, professional artist.
I'm inspired and driven by nature, our Australian beaches, landscapes, wildlife and modern architecture. I have a passion for fine art and fine details as I feel it brings art to life and I have more recently discovered a love for capturing emotion in my work. I put my heart and soul into every piece and I always try to add interest into my drawings and paintings wether it be from up close or far away. My 2 main mediums are mostly acrylic or oil on canvas or coloured pencil, but I'm not afraid to experiment with new media, techniques, subjects and textures. I also work with resin and a bit of fluid art when I feel like loosening up and experimenting a little.
