Artwork Description

Inspired by my love of the Australian bush and everything about it. I love nothing more than to get out close to nature and explore the beauty of my natural surrounding with my camera. The Sacred kingfisher in this painting was photographed by myself on my morning walk and I decided to pair it with this adorable curious koala for this painting.
My love for photography has driven me to bring a bokeh background to my artworks and an airbrush is the perfect tool for doing so. I love the contrast that can then be achieved by using traditional paintbrushes to bring all the other features into focus and adding sharp, tight details.
I'm someone who loves fine details and I have great enjoyment in adding fine details to all of my creations.
This painting is a one off original piece of work and will bring life and a true Australian feel to any room.

Artist Bio

I'm a mum to two young children, I paint or draw every chance I get. I began drawing horses and cartoon characters such as Garfield when I was 12 back in 1992. I am self taught and it has always been my passion and my dream to be a successful, professional artist.
I'm inspired and driven by nature, our Australian beaches, landscapes, wildlife and modern architecture. I have a passion for fine art and fine details as I feel it brings art to life and I have more recently discovered a love for capturing emotion in my work. I put my heart and soul into every piece and I always try to add interest into my drawings and paintings wether it be from up close or far away. My 2 main mediums are mostly acrylic or oil on canvas or coloured pencil, but I'm not afraid to experiment with new media, techniques, subjects and textures. I also work with resin and a bit of fluid art when I feel like loosening up and experimenting a little.
