Artwork Description

I grew up going fishing on my father's boat most weekends combined with several holidays to the Whitsunday Islands.
I have seen heards of turtles majestically swim around the Whitsunday Islands and I have always been mesmerised with their beauty.

I've always loved the idea of displaying what's above and below the water in one piece. In this instance the sun is shining above the surface and shining rays through the water touching everything thats within it.

This painting is unframed but has a great deal of detail painting around the edges of the canvas.

All of my paintings have an extremely high level of attention to detail. When studying a subject I analyse every single aspect of it, including texture, shine, reflection, shadows etc. When most people view my art in person for the first time they usually comment on how much detail is in it and how it looks so much better in person.

Would suit any beach style decor.

Artist Bio

I'm a mum to two young children, I paint or draw every chance I get. I began drawing horses and cartoon characters such as Garfield when I was 12 back in 1992. I am self taught and it has always been my passion and my dream to be a successful, professional artist.
I'm inspired and driven by nature, our Australian beaches, landscapes, wildlife and modern architecture. I have a passion for fine art and fine details as I feel it brings art to life and I have more recently discovered a love for capturing emotion in my work. I put my heart and soul into every piece and I always try to add interest into my drawings and paintings wether it be from up close or far away. My 2 main mediums are mostly acrylic or oil on canvas or coloured pencil, but I'm not afraid to experiment with new media, techniques, subjects and textures. I also work with resin and a bit of fluid art when I feel like loosening up and experimenting a little.
