Heather Lorenzon, Dip Art Ed; FRSASA
Mixed Media Artist and Teacher
Heather Lorenzon trained as an Art Teacher at the National Art School in Sydney from 1969 to 1972 where she majored in painting and drawing.
She teaches art classes in various venues and Art groups around Adelaide with a particular interest in helping people discover and develop their creative potential.
Heather’s subject matter generally references landscape and figurative subjects, verging on abstraction. She calls her work ‘Interpretive realism’. For instance, Heather likes to explore the feelings that the landscape evokes. To do this she uses a wide variety of media such as acrylic texture mediums, masking fluid, inks etc. Heather is involved in community art events and often does ‘Quick Draw Portraits’ in pen and wash at markets and public events.
As well as the physical tools of the artist, Heather uses mental tools such as the practice of Transcendental Meditation® which she says to helps keep her mind clear and creative ideas flowing.
