Artwork Description

This watercolour painting, captures the vibrant beauty of roses in a vase, rendered with soft yet bold strokes of colour. The interplay of warm pinks, rich reds, and gentle yellows creates a bouquet that feels alive with emotion, while the loose watercolour technique allows the colours to blend and bleed, giving the flowers a natural, organic flow.

The piece holds a deeply personal meaning, inspired by my late mother’s love for roses. I began this painting on Mother’s Day, just a couple of months before her passing, as a tribute to the memories we shared—growing roses together in the garden, giving her roses, and admiring the ones she lovingly nurtured. Creating this artwork has brought me joy and comfort, as roses represent the enduring love and connection between loved ones - which is what roses are most commonly known for.

Whether you have a love for roses, a connection to the beauty of nature, or are drawn to the emotions behind the piece, “Roses for Mum” will bring warmth and light to any space.
