Artwork Description

Raw, unfiltered, unapologetic, energetic expressive release x
Let that stress, tension, grief and disappointment GO!
This piece is all about new beginnings; honouring our past & every incident & experience that has made us the wonderfully layered and deeply passionate & feeling people that we are. Yet no longer holding onto the baggage and weight of having lived a life confined within a blindly dictated framework of societal expectations.
Especially as women; all the roles we did not choose, and yet we poured our whole selves into every expectation, as the people pleasing' good girls' that we were raised, unquestioningly, to be....
So, this is a celebration of burning expectations to the ground & starting over!
The new potential of being exactly who we want to be, bringing in a very different healing, cleansing & authentic energy.
May the next chapter be one we write from a place of wholeness, self-love, self-care & a truly deep awareness of exactly who we are and honouring our own needs before all the roles that were put upon us, before we realised that we had a choice....
It's NEVER too late to start over!

Artist Bio

Emigrating from the UK in 2009, Heidi Broom built a 30-year executive-level career in the technology industry before relocating from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast in 2023. Surrounded by the lush interplay of beaches and bushland, she draws daily inspiration from the vibrant rhythms of the natural world.
Heidi’s path to painting was born not from formal training but from resilience and rediscovery. Shamed out of the school art room at 12 for “not being creative,” she returned to art more than three decades later, following cycles of corporate burnout, chronic illness, and a life reset that invited her to listen to her soul’s calling.
Through abstract painting, Heidi found both freedom and flow. Her works channel bold colour, movement, and emotional energy; expressions of vulnerability and joy that speak to the alchemy of surrender and self-discovery. Once painted just to enliven her own home, her joyful canvases now reside in beach houses and luxury homes along Australia’s East Coast, a testament to her belief that art is not about perfection, but about living fully in the act of creation.
