Mulla Mulla

Mulla Mulla is a beautiful flowering perennial native that is seen in colourful drifts across the Central Australian landscape.
It has been described as a healing flower that can help to soften and calm the healing process and recuperation and is used in flower essences for this purpose.
I loved seeing the mass of pink feathery flowers dancing in the breeze, how could I not feel inspired!
I hope this painting brings as much joy to the viewer as I had creating it.

No painting is without challenges, I dare not throw a layer of paint on the canvas and say its complete!
Even when I love the spontaneous effect of that first layer.
The canvas deserves my attention and intention, to be worked on and to go through the process of layering paint, scratching it back almost to the point of disaster, before returning it back to life.
Paintings need to evolve over the period of time, capturing my changing moods. Quite often the final result surprises me and the fine line of knowing when to walk away is not always apparent.
