Another painting in the Desert Landscape series from my road trip to Uluru,
This painting is inspired by the an early morning view of the sun rising over the landscape, such a beautiful display of changing colours.
I decided that after some time, I needed to make an addition to this work, just a small amount of silver leaf to represent water flowing down the face of the rock.
This is a large colourful painting with subtle details and would look stunning on any blank wall just wanting a pop of colour

No painting is without challenges, I dare not throw a layer of paint on the canvas and say its complete!
Even when I love the spontaneous effect of that first layer.
The canvas deserves my attention and intention, to be worked on and to go through the process of layering paint, scratching it back almost to the point of disaster, before returning it back to life.
Paintings need to evolve over the period of time, capturing my changing moods. Quite often the final result surprises me and the fine line of knowing when to walk away is not always apparent.
