Storm after dark, Waterloo Bay

I have had painters block for some weeks now, this big white canvas has been stretched and ready to go and I just couldn't bring myself to put paint to canvas.
Today I put on some music that I haven't listened to in years, and I was thinking about how the last nights storm kept me awake until the early hours of the morning.
I did not think about what I was going to paint, I just mixed my colour and let the music and the storm transport me across the bay.
Something deep within me guides my brush and after a few hours I step back and look at where I have been. Its quite a magical journey.
I hope the viewer can follow me when they look into this art work.

No painting is without challenges, I dare not throw a layer of paint on the canvas and say its complete!
Even when I love the spontaneous effect of that first layer.
The canvas deserves my attention and intention, to be worked on and to go through the process of layering paint, scratching it back almost to the point of disaster, before returning it back to life.
Paintings need to evolve over the period of time, capturing my changing moods. Quite often the final result surprises me and the fine line of knowing when to walk away is not always apparent.
