This painting is about the beauty of roses their curling petals, the subtle changes in the colour and the juxtaposition to one another. This painting is in a response to a photograph by Loretta Karazinov from her micro flower farm in Queensland's Tamborine Mountain. Loretta granted me permission to use her photo as my inspiration. I fell in love with the unusual colours of these roses and their beauty. This painting would look stunning in a loungeroom, dining area or entrance hall. It has a classical beauty with the roses set against a dark background which enhance their beautiful colours. Working with oil paint allows me to blend the colours and obtain a depth of colour.
