Fly Away is a painting inspired by nature. I was thinking about natural beauty in the environment and man made beauty. The fragile balance of nature and what we do to preserve it. Butterflies have a fascinating life cycle and they see very fragile and the notion that to fly away is the ultimate freedom.
I use oil paint to capture the lustre of the tea cup by subtle blending of colours with a soft brush.
