Artwork Description

This piece expressed a whirlwind of emotions I was feeling at the time, that called into question some fundamental truths. I felt grounded but confused. Particularly of note are the pinks and golds in this piece. They catch the light, helping the eye move around. A mix of bold and fine lines, large and smaller shapes continue to hold the viewer's interest.

Artist Bio

I'm a self-taught artist based in Adelaide. After seeing an ad for an online painting course, I bit the bullet and from that point on started painting at every opportunity. I quickly discovered my favourite mediums: acrylic paint, oil pastels, soft pastels and markers of all kinds. I mainly paint on paper and canvas.

"I paint, therefore I am."

I paint because I need to. I paint to express and process emotions, and to support my mental health. I paint for joy and play and discovery. I believe everyone should create, using whatever medium resonates with them. Creativity, to me, is a source of individual and collective well-being that is largely untapped in western culture. Even in piercing expressions of pain, beauty can be found.

It is my hope that my paintings can add to a spirit of joy, discovery and creativity into your home.
