Born in India, now based in Sydney, Hiren depicts emotionally charged urban and rural landscapes saturated with light and atmosphere. Highly influenced by Australian impressionists and modern painters, Hirenโs recent urban vistas are intensely personal renditions of the places he wandered in Australia and India, utilising field sketches, photographs and memory he transforms everyday mundane subjects into visual poetries by richly layering colours and instinctive paint application. Emphasising his painting process, Hiren initiates each painting with idea of light and mood; he develops composition by exploiting various characteristics of oil paint medium for mark making. Through constantly searching, finding and destroying the forms, colours and edges Hiren discovers painterly visions. Hiren is Associate of Royal Art Society and has been winner of many juried show and awarded multiple first prizes such as Lloyd Rees, Joshua Smith and best in categories in recent years in Sydney.
