The painting "Retro snapshot" was inspired by 60's vintage art but with a modern twist. The girl in the blue old-fashioned dress includes large disproportionate eyes and small facial features to accentuate a child-like appearance. This was intentional as its purpose is to create a warm and sweet atmosphere. Contrary to the warmth of the painting she's holding a scruffy cat with a striking gaze. The way the eyes seem to follow you changes the overall emotion and contributes to a darker and more mysterious tone.
