Hope Aman-Hickey is a Blue Mountains landscape artist using blends of acrylic and watercolour to create artworks which reflect the beautiful power and mystery of the natural world. Inspired by the works of Arthur Boyd and William Robinson, her self-taught pieces capture movement and emotion through blending and use of chiascuro technique. Moving from Manly at just 2yrs of age, her love and longing for the ocean is felt by viewers through her art, enhanced by texture and detailed sections. Hope's subject matter arises from blending memories of her time spent outdoors, and working in natural light environments allows Hope to enhance her skills and practice new styles.
Hope has had works commissioned statewide as well as to the UK and the Netherlands. Her goal is to highlight the importance of taking care of our environment and encourage people to appreciate the world around us by portraying the natural world in ways both pleasing and stimulating.
