Artwork Description

The summer sun is drying out the rain sodden fields, the fires from only a few years ago largely occasionally present their scars. On the drive north to the Murray we pass through small forested sections and grazing land pastures, the slide by, flat open country, ochres and golden glows with the last green moisture in the grasslands shining through. This painting was selected by Shaynna Blaze and featured in her recent show "Country Home Rescue" - the images from the montage hopefully provide an idea of how it all came together.

Artist Bio

I love painting, always have always will! It's really that simple. Have been fortunate enough to be able to pursue my interest in art design, as an illustrator of books, a designer and art director.
The painting has been on a more personal level, and enjoy painting primarily in acrylic. I like to work quickly to capture the moment, before it passes, before the cloudburst, before the light changes to reveal a totally different scene again. Whenever possible i like to pack an easel, or lean a canvas on a tree trunk or a rock, work in-field always adds a certain immediacy which i strive to capture.
Bold colour, strong forms and angry skies always strike a chord with me, the play of light picking out forms, revealing the landscape. My paintings are my memories, it's my document of being in the moment,
i hope they evoke a strong connection for others too.
