Artwork Description

A crowd of people from the 1940s with facials expressions of shock and apprehension . Dressed in period appropriate attire , including fedora hats for the men and stylized hairstyles for the women. The palette in dominated by warm muted tones of brown , orange and tan.
The overall composition suggest a moment of shock and realization . Could it really be !!

Artist Bio

I really don't have a big story to tell .. I am retired and completely self taught painter, who took up painting in my 30's .After studying art history in high school only, in the late 60's , I joined the RAAF and after 9 years service which included a tour of Vietnam, I went into sales and sales management for the next 30 years. I have never exhibited , but enjoy the incredible challenge and the frustration that comes from painting, every time you pick up a brush, learning new techniques, exploring, and studying other artists in all fields I find fascinating and very stimulating .My work is in acrylic , with the occasional pencil or pastel...I just like the idea of trying something different, rather than the same style all the time, in fact I don't think I have a particular or personal style...I like to push the personal boundaries you might say and develop new skills. When I started painting , I was doing primarily pop style paintings and I do find that style hard to get out of the system , hence that style of painting does "pop" up from time to time in my listings. Influences definitely come from the pop culture of the 50s and 60s, art nouveau and art deco .You never ever stop learning, and that, to me, is an absolute joy.
