Affirmation – Let’s not lose hope.

Gerbera Daisies are strong perennial plants with a delightful flower’s message.
The flowers symbolized happiness and gratefulness for the life you have been given.
They are a celebration of life. The Egyptian believed that the gerbera would lessen the sorrows and stresses of everyday life in the old days. It also has a meaning of closeness to nature and devotion to the sun.

Alstroemeria, also known as Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, native to South America however some have become naturalized in the United States, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
In 1753 Baron Claus von Alstomer, a Swedish baron, discovered the flower while collecting seeds on a trip to Spain. The Alstroemeria flower was named after him.
This long-lasting flower symbolises devotion and friendship. Alstroemeria is also a symbol of wealth, fortune and prosperity.

Symbolic of powerful Yang energy, Chrysanthemums are believed to represent longevity, joy and attractant of good luck in the home. If you receive chrysanthemums from someone, it is a symbol of love.

The beautiful sun-coloured yellow rose can also convey warmth, delight and affection, as well as say good luck, welcome back, and remember me. The yellow rose is the perfect flower for someone who needs a little cheering up.

Affirmation: Fly higher and shine brighter, because nothing can dim your light.
From where I live in Bayswater, there is a big field of forest near my studio.
My creating process normally starts with a short walk into the woods, touching the texture of the tree barks, and feeling the sunlight reflecting on the leaves and grasses.
I then collect whatever I found during the walk as inspiration.
Sometimes I have various tree leaves or bird feathers; in autumn I have acorns, and wattles in winter. There's only one rule for my collecting process, never take from the living tree/life.
I collect what had fallen only, and those are the gifts from the nature of the day for me.
There is one particular orange gum tree that I walk past every day.
I was obsessed with the delightful view of the sunlight reflected on those striking orange blossoms every time. It has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom of the plant around my surroundings, now you are looking at my latest interpretation of my favourite gum tree.
CORYMBIA FICIFOLIA (BABY ORANGE), a tough Australian native plant with brilliant bright orange flowers in summertime, is quite common in urban areas, gardens and streetscapes.
New growth appears bronze-red then turns green providing a beautiful contrast of colour.
Eucalyptus flowers also have the symbolic meaning of Healing and Protection.

Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine.

To experience the changing of the seasons and to present moments, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom in my surroundings during its flowering season. This artwork is inspired by the Passion Vine that I spotted in my neighbourhood close to my art studio.
I was fascinated by those interesting fringed petals and splendorous tendrils; the white petals shone bright like precious gems under the sunshine.
Fun Fact of these unusual blossoms - Passion Flower Essence is used to purify and strengthen one’s connection to unconditional love even nowadays.
A Truly Special and Symbolic Gift- Passion Flower, was named by Roman Catholic priests In the 15th and 16th centuries for the Passion of Jesus Christ. Old sayings were that the flower's five petals and five-petallike sepals represented the 10 faithful apostles. As for the circle of filaments in the centre of the blossom, it stands for the Crown of Thorns.

To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by a day trip to Sassafras, Victoria. This beautiful Scarlet Banksia lay on top of a bunch of wattle caught my attention.
Banksia coccinea, native to Western Australia, also known as the scarlet banksia, waratah banksia or Albany banksia, is an erect shrub or small tree in the family Proteaceae. Banksia coccinea plants are killed by bushfire and regenerate from seed.
Banksia symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. To move on from the past courageously, to have the strength to look forward to tomorrow.
Wattle flower – the symbol of life, renewal and potential. The green and gold are the national colours of Australia, first used in 1899.
All the native blossoms bloom gloriously like a warming sun. Therefore, I have the title - Outshine the Light, for this particular artwork.

To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by my visit to the Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne. I was drawn immediately to this beautiful, large native shrub in full bloom in the flowering season. I love every detail of it, from the terminal racemes of small flowers in bright yellow that shine beautifully under the sun, to the long, narrow pine-like leaves.
Persoonia pinifolia, a species of the Proteaceae family, is an attractive large shrub with large spikes of bright, vivid yellow flowers and pine-like foliage, native to New South Wales, Australia.
Pine-leaved Geebung normally flowering from mid-summer to autumn, it grows into a dense shrub that birds can take refuge in. Persoonia pinifolia loves well-drained acid soil, prefers a sunny position or one with partial shade, and tolerates reasonably heavy frosts.
This is a rare sight to see as it can be difficult to propagate somehow. This is why it was a nice surprise that I encountered the Pine-leaved Geebung in its flowering season during my visit to the garden.
Affirmation – Do your best, all your perseverance and effort will turn into a fruitful harvest.
