Artwork Description

This type of scene can happen with a storm approaching and a graziers' alert is announced. Cattle will be rounded up and moved to a more sheltered paddock. In this painting cattle are being driven across the Shoalhaven River to the home paddock.

Artist Bio

I have been involved in creative industries all of my working life.

I founded and operated the firm Card Sharp, publisher and wholesaler of greeting cards and gift packaging for 37 years until sold several years ago. During that period we published and distributed the works of more than one hundred artists, illustrators and photographers, throughout Australia as well as exporting to America and the UK. Although the majority of my time was spent on administration I did personally create many images on art paper which easily lends itself to achieving detail and also enjoyed the challenges of digital art and printing.

Today, retired on acres overlooking the Shoalhaven River on the NSW South Coast, creative time has expanded and I now work with acrylic on canvas with strong tooth. This form of art requires considerable time and discipline to produce detail and some of my work can take many weeks to produce. However I can revert to my past to enjoy doing an entirely different type of image.

In summary, I do not have any particular style and will happily paint randomly from the inspiration of the beauty of these natural surroundings. My subjects include, wildlife, rain-forest birds, flowers, trees, river reflections, horses, cattle and the very special light which exists in this valley.
