This pair of King Parrots are communicating while perched on a white cedar tree, high in a rain-forest remnant in the Shoalhaven Valley. In the heat of summer the Kings stay in the mountain mists but during other months they come down in flocks to feed on buds and flowers. They are a wild bird which should not be kept in captivity but nevertheless they come readily to hand for native seeds. This painting has depth that you will be able to look into as a window on your wall to enjoy a natural environment in your home.
