Despite the horrendous cost of the 2019/20 bushfires in Australia, I experienced a morbid fascination with the burnt landscape. The ash strewn ground, burned trees and stumps spoke to me of the merciless power of nature in all its terrible beauty. My paintings have no 'orientation'; rather, they can be viewed in any orientation, in the same way maps are viewed. Influences include; indigenous art and perspectives; Infra-red imaging; Hubble Space Telescope; aerial photography; maps. My inspirations are all manifestations of visual and aural art, but specifically Modernism/Minimalism, and indigenous artists Rover Thomas & Jean Baptiste Apuatimi. As with all my paintings, I can arrange to have the piece framed prior to dispatch. This will incur extended delivery date and extra costs for framing and courier cost - prices on confirmation of purchase and no-return agreement.
