Its such a rare sight to see iconic Telstra public phone boxes and so I was stunned to find three lined up together in Birdsville β itself and iconic place. Perhaps for people who lost their phone while drunk after the races. Meanwhile a man walks past while looking at his mobile phone. It was a great opportunity to create an urban (if Birdsville can be considered βurbanβ landscape and feature these relics of the past, with the sunlight cutting across the image reminding me of the three wise monkeys - see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil β the warm Telstra orange contrasting the deep blue sky.
Image constructed on golden ratio to help create a balanced image β challenging putting the focus square in the centre, using stippled pastel in pointillist effect to create sense of movement, each pastel layer fixed to build up the next layer of colour and warm tones to create the sunny warmth of an August day in Birdsville winter.
