Somewhere Sometime

As the title suggests this abstracted landscape could be a place that is familiar or perhaps a memory from sometime in the viewer's past. The work is strong, modern with bold marks representing a landscape. It's a very emotional strong response revealing the artist' decisive and intuitive mark making. This painting would hang just as well in a corporate setting or a modern beautiful house. The double width thick canvas makes it literally stand off the wall.

Ian creates and lives on the beautiful Coal Coast in Thirroul, Australia. Living between the escarpment and the sea many of his works are inspired by the natural landscape. His works are often eclectic in nature... from large modern contemporary canvasses to small intricate hand printed designs. His splashing large abstract expressionistic pieces look great in beautiful modern white walled homes or offices... while his smaller framed intimate pieces explore abstract compositions using monotype or mono printing on handmade Japanese papers. Many of his works are regularly exhibited in national art prizes, comprising hand printed paper collages forming large abstract landscapes.
