Original Artwork's Description

I had inspiration from a lonely seagull wondering around at Flinders Street station platform 9 some time ago
The seagull was most likely looking for a little share of food but it also looked like a
passenger waiting for the train. And then I couldn't stop thinking about an image of a seagull sitting on the train looking out the window....

Artist Bio

Iko Maddox was born in Tokyo Japan.
Growing up in a drab inner city Tokyo suburb,
she has used her imagination as an escape from
her hyper urban environment.

Her watercolour paintings are playful juxtapositions
of animals into people role plays.
They are bright, cheerful and colourful and above all
dynamic.

She enjoys figurative art which she can apply to
different genres including fashion and botanical
portraits. Moreover, she emphasises humour as
the foundation and inspiration of her art.
