Artwork Description

This painting is of Herieth Paul, a Tanzanian model. Like many of my other works, she is represented as a strong woman. Her gaze is directed at the viewer and aims to help the viewer connect with the subject.

Hi there.
I am a Melbourne based artist I have been painting since I was about three years old. (Yes, my mother still has my very first painting on canvas in a little gold frame). The desire to paint and create is part of my DNA. Whilst I have enjoyed experimenting with different mediums and subject matter over the years, my focus has largely been portraiture and abstract . I love painting portraits of women whose features and personal stories inspire me. These paintings seek to highlight each woman's natural beauty and life story.
Feel free to contact me should you have any questions or would like to view any pieces in Melbourne prior to purchase.
Much Love, Ilona x
