From Stage Moves to Still lives. From playwriting to sculpture, ive moved my theatre of life to small 3d forms in porcelain, sometimes bronze. I am an evolving artist enchanted by tactile forms that stir the psyche and touch our collective discomforts. Having tangoed with light works, sound works and word works discovering too the power of the flat surface ive begun to give breathing space to my 2d drawings and paintings. I work in oils applying vigorous impasto marks with anything but a brush, or fast and loose with ink or gouache My figural work - feet, faces, gestural bodies, - draws from a dancers sensitivity to the body as our dream machine, its facilitations and limitations, its spatial and relational interface, its expressive power, the pain, the assymmetries, the awkward, imperfect bodies full of meaning and history.
