Artwork Description

Between Light and Flight
180 x 180 cm
Acrylic on canvas | Diptych
Between Light and Flight explores the delicate space where opposites meet , light and shadow, stillness and motion, grounding and freedom.
The glowing full moon represents clarity, intuition, and illumination, while the flocks of birds , both white cockatoos and dark bats 🦇 symbolise movement, transition, and the constant pull between different energies within us.
Rather than opposing one another, they coexist in harmony across a blushing pink sky.
The river becomes the quiet connector , flowing steadily through lush botanicals, exotic blooms, and peaceful water lilies.
It grounds the scene, reminding us that even in change and movement, there is always a current of calm guiding us forward.

Artist Bio

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
