Artwork Description

Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Size: 40 x 50 cm
Signed and ready to hang

Description & Inspiration:
Inspired by peaceful afternoons spent wandering along the marina, Docked captures a quiet, intimate view of the side of a moored boat.

Weathered timber boards and thick, coiled ropes hang with a sense of stillness, echoing stories of the sea.
In the distance, a few small sailing boats drift gently, catching the breeze.
The soft, round sun begins to set, casting a peach and yellow glow across the sky, which gently spills into the rippling blue water below.

I was drawn to the contrast between the sturdy textures of the boat and the delicate warmth of the fading light.
The reflection of sunset tones in the harbour felt almost dreamlike—so I layered them into the water to recreate that golden moment of calm before evening.
This piece invites you to pause, reflect, and feel the quiet magic of a harbour at rest.

Artist Bio

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
