Artwork Description

Whimsy Signals
Size: 100x180 cm | Acrylic, gesso on Canvas | Signed & Glossed
Step into a swirling, dreamlike world where nature and imagination intertwine in a dance of movement and color. Whimsy Signals is a vibrant, highly textured painting that invites you to slow down and explore its many intricate details.

On the left, a towering treehouse rises with interwoven vines and portals , a home to tiny people who navigate the breezy heights.

At the heart of the painting, a grand spiral conch shell rests, a mysterious signal-sending vessel, perhaps used to communicate with the world beyond.

Below, a massive snail, with flowers, moves at its own steady pace, whispering the age-old wisdom to “slow down and smell the flowers.”

Behind it, a red and white mushroom echoes the spiral motif, its shape mirroring the fantastical rhythm of the scene.

On the upper right, another whimsy treehouse stands from the canvas, stretching toward a golden spiraling sun that glows in warmth.

The sky, painted in soft tones of light blue, pink, and yellow, adds a surreal glow, enhancing the sense of wonder.

Every part of the painting is brimming with life, from the little people nestled in the treehouses to the hidden details that reveal themselves the longer you look .

A celebration of movement, stillness, and connection, Whimsy Signals is an invitation to pause, look closer, and lose oneself in its world of playful mystery.

Artist Bio

From an early age, I was drawn to creative expression, discovering my passion for art as soon as I could hold a crayon.
I pursued this passion academically, earning a degree in Art Education in Ukraine, which laid the foundation for my artistic and teaching career.
After relocating to Australia in 2002, I continued to develop my practice and actively sought opportunities to exhibit my work.
I have since participated in various art prizes and exhibited in local galleries, while also sharing my knowledge through teaching, both in my home studio and within the school community attended by my children.
For me, art is more than a passion; it is a lifelong journey of exploration, growth, and connection. Through both my creative practice and teaching, I aim to inspire others to experience the joy and transformative power of art. My work has allowed me to engage with audiences locally on the Gold Coast and internationally, reinforcing my belief in creativity as a universal language that enriches lives.
