Artwork Description

This piece was captured in the Moroccan city of Rabat. Waking on my first morning, the view over the neighbouring rooftops was irresistible. I took a few shots with my camera to capture the memory. When I saw it on the computer screen I knew I had to edit it for an art print.
The colours are stunning and it prints so beautifully.
I like to make my images into collectable pieces of art by using a few simple editing techniques. This one worked a treat. I have it printed on my own walls.
It prints beautifully on one of Canson's fine art papers. I prefer Platine with a slight lustre but it equally sings when printed on Canson Rag Photographique.

It is offered as a small print for a modest price however I am able to print it in my studio up to an A2 size. Larger sizes need to be sent out for printing and require a quotation.

Framed option available - please contact me for a quote.
Canvas available - again please ask for a quote.

Artist Bio

My passion for photography was finally unleashed when I retired from education in 2010. Since then my knowledge and my style have developed considerably. I have had many opportunities through courses, workshops, mentoring, travel and exhibitions to nurture my passion for photography.

My style is more impressionism than realism. My passion is seascapes.

I decided a number of years ago that the seascapes I wanted to create would be more painterly, perhaps more gentle. I use a variety of techniques to make my images but the core of my work is created in camera. I use post processing to add another dimension and to resolve the image.

My work is not limited to seascapes. As a Blue Mountains resident, I have found a way of interpreting my local landscape. I don’t try to compete in style with the amazing landscape photographers who I admire, rather I try to put my own emphasis on the images I choose to capture. For the past 4 years I have had a relatively large body of work at the Blackheath Hub where my work became known. I am active in the Mtns Made community and I have valued getting to know other artists in my local area. I have been involved in a number of group photography exhibitions including in the Palm House, Botanic Gardens Sydney; Everglades, Leura; Braemar in Springwood; National Parks Govetts Leap Blackheath.

I print most of my own work in my home studio on my Epson large format using archival papers and inks. The work featured initially on Bluethumb is some of my local Blue Mountains and rural scenes.
