Artwork Description

This painting is of my friend Helen. She is so lovely and I trust her a lot. She has walked through life with me through the ups and downs and good time. She is a true encourager and we laugh a lot together.
I didn’t put myself in painting. Instead I put a dog. Dog spelt backwards is God. The message being it’s lovely when we have trusting friends but we also have God who wants us to trust him. He says cast your cares on him because he will take care of it. Do the things you can do but release the things that you have no control over. Give it all to God whilst you enjoy your walk and life. It’s a gift!! 😄🎉🥰🙏

Artist Bio

Ingrid Wilson grew up in a family where creativity was always encouraged. Painting, drawing and playing was a big part of her childhood.
Her family home was Chartersville, which was part of the old Heidelberg art school which Walter withers and Tom Robert’s attended. So she was also surrounded by creative history too.
After high school, Ingrid went on to study graphic design, though it was always the freedom of fine arts that was on her heart. So after university it was travelling overseas to Europe that inspired Ingrid’s first body of artwork to hold her first solo, sell out exhibition.
Since then Ingrid has, for the last 28 years, continued to produce artwork and exhibit in solo and group shows, not just in Melbourne but interstate and overseas.
Her media include drawing, painting, sculpture, mosaic and film.
Ingrid’s artwork and themes are like a personal diary of her life. Simply put, where she goes, who she meets and what she loves is what inspires her to create. Most of her inspiration comes from people, travel, stories, children, architecture, flowers, animals, angels, her Christian faith and most importantly that Spirit of Love that God gives.
Her style of art ranges from the small, detailed and intricate pen, pencil and ink work to the big, bold and colourful painted artworks and sculptures. Capturing not just the world around her but her rich inner life and the spirit realm.
You can see the influences from her favourite artists like, Matisse, Brett Whiteley, Picasso, Hundertwasser and Frida Kahlo to name a few in her artwork. Yet her artwork is still very unique and ever-evolving, that has become her own recognisable style.
If you purchase an Ingrid Wilson artwork she hopes it will bring you much Joy, light, beauty and inspiration into your home and life.

Hello I was a Melbourne based artist though now living in beautiful Sydney. After studying Graphic Design at Monash University receiving my Bachelors Degree I went on to following my love in the fine Arts. A self taught artist who believes all people were born to create in whatever way they feel drawn.
I have been a full time Artist for 27 years. Holding over 20 solo exhibitions and many many group shows too. My artworks are mostly paintings, drawings, sculptures and occasionally interesting mosaic works.
My inspiration comes from love. It’s just like a love rises up within me that I need to express. I am so inspired by people, travel, animals, children, flowers, the natural and Spiritual realm. I am so thankful to God who is love that gives us that creative gift to express ourselves. The God of all creation who made this beautiful Earth and heaven.
My artwork ranges from very detailed intricate work to very large bold and colourful works. I like to draw what I see in the natural but even more what I see in the imagination. I love drawing and painting Angels, Jesus and colours of the Spirit. My artwork is still developing and I want my work to radiate love light and joy that over flows to the viewer.
