All of My Faces, 2021, was drawn in response to many emotions hidden within the layers making up my identity, including emotions such as anxieties lived with by a vast amount of the population. Every human has many different faces they use in different situations, whether to mask emotional responses or hide the true self; every face brings out a different emotion. However, each individual face within the drawing shows a level of exhaustion. The monochromatic congested surface tells a story of anxiety, fatigue and as I wear each face, there isnโt one anymore that can hide the pain behind the mask. All of My Faces is a narrative of my mental health and layers of thoughts. I have approached the inside of my mind similarly with interest in the human behaviours to keep things hidden, the layers of thoughts and emotions held within, at the same time provoking emotions layered on top of feelings of anxieties.
