Artwork Description

In this work, a dancer is captured in a quiet moment between movements- a pause where strength meets vulnerability. Soft, muted tones and layered brushwork create a sense of introspection and calm, evoking the delicate balance between motion and stillness. The piece reflects Irene’s continuing exploration of atmosphere, memory, and emotion through the human form.

Artist Bio

Irene is an Italian visual artist whose paintings are inspired by the places she has lived and the memories they hold.
She works primarily with acrylic and oil on canvas, and watercolour on paper, combining layered textures and expressive colours.
Irene studied Fine Arts at the University of Ravenna in Italy, with additional studies in mosaics and etching , and spent a year at the University of Bilbao, Spain, where she worked at the Guggenheim museum.
Her work has been exhibited in several venues in Brighton, England, and she now lives on the Mornington Peninsula where she continues to explore the connection between landscapes and memory though colour and light.
