Artwork Description

Softly diffused colour and repeating arches suggest the memory of a historic town square. The interplay of warm yellows, pinks, and blues captures the changing light across stone and air, blurring the line between architecture and atmosphere. In this work, Irene continues her exploration of memory and place through abstraction and light.

Artist Bio

Irene is an Italian visual artist whose paintings are inspired by the places she has lived and the memories they hold.
She works primarily with acrylic and oil on canvas, and watercolour on paper, combining layered textures and expressive colours.
Irene studied Fine Arts at the University of Ravenna in Italy, with additional studies in mosaics and etching , and spent a year at the University of Bilbao, Spain, where she worked at the Guggenheim museum.
Her work has been exhibited in several venues in Brighton, England, and she now lives on the Mornington Peninsula where she continues to explore the connection between landscapes and memory though colour and light.
