Artwork Description

This drawing is a part of Togetherness series created during 2020.

The self-isolation time has put a test on everyone's sanity and ability to unlink, separate, reflect,, detach, internalise. The series explores the human need for connection, physical touch, symbiosis, closeness and love.

The technique of not lifting the tip of the pen off paper till the drawing is complete reflects the emotional and physical attachment of the people depicted. Intertwined emotions, symbiotic existence, codependency and human relationships are a source of never ending inspiration.
The series also draw upon slow shutter speed / movement photography.
With this series Irma explores further the range of human psychology, body language, emotional intelligence, human relationships, entanglement, isolation, participation, social pressure, love and passion, bodily pleasures, obsessions, connection and loneliness, our need of a physical and emotional closeness.
The semi-abstract nature of the series enables the viewers to connect with their own emotions and memories, allowing them to freely interpret the lines on the paper.

210gsm paper.
Unframed.
