Artwork Description

"A Teal JoJo" is a diptych artwork driven by an exploration of color and geometric shapes. In real life, my black cat, JoJo, is silly and a bit of a goofball. For this piece, I took his black silhouette and transformed it into a secure, sturdy form.
This solid, solitary animal shape creates a direct contrast against the wild background. While the silhouette can look like a dog or a cat, it is meant as a universal representation for all animal lovers and the pets that share our lives.

The Meaning
This painting is about the grounding force of a pet. You can have a crazy, wild day, whether it was fun, bad, sad, or good. You might face chaos at work, with friends, or in a relationship, but your animal remains completely unaffected. They stay exactly the same, and they love you unconditionally. No matter what you experience outside, your pet stays steady inside their little bubble.
