Creative expression has always been at the heart of who I am. I cannot remember a time when I wasn't drawing, filling notebooks with stories, or trying to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around me. Although I am largely self-taught, art has been my greatest teacher—guiding me through life's most profound moments of joy, loss, growth and transformation.
Painting has become far more than a creative practice; it is how I make meaning from the depths of grief, and transform difficult emotions into something honest and alive. Time and again, art has brought me back to myself. It has reminded me of my purpose, connected me with those I have loved and lost, and become a place where healing, memory and hope can coexist.
My work is inspired by nature's quiet wisdom, the richness of human expression and the unseen landscapes we all carry within us. I am endlessly fascinated by the language of texture and colour—how they can evoke memory, emotion and connection without explanation. Each painting begins with textured sand that I hand-mix before building layers of oil paint through intuitive brushwork and mark-making. With each layer I watch landscapes of emotion appear on the canvas.
Alongside my textured oil paintings, I create intricate watercolour and fine liner illustrations. This slower, more meticulous process invites patience, precision and presence, offering a different but equally meaningful form of creative expression. I am continually experimenting with new techniques, from creating my own pigments to incorporating natural elements into my work, allowing the landscapes and materials that inspire me to become part of each piece.
As an art therapist, I have witnessed the extraordinary capacity of creativity to heal, transform and reconnect us with ourselves. This understanding deeply informs my practice. I believe creativity is not reserved for a gifted few—it is an essential part of being human. My mission is to inspire others to embrace their own creative spirit and bring their authenticity into the world.
I don't believe we simply choose the artwork we live with. I believe the right painting finds the person it is meant for. If my work speaks to you, I hope it becomes more than a piece on your wall—I hope it becomes a quiet companion, a source of reflection, and a reminder of the beauty that can emerge from even life's most difficult seasons.
