This artwork was inspired by the many overseas holidays my husband and I had. We would spend our time avoiding many of the crowded tourist attractions and walk around the little streets and lanes for those hidden gems.
I have always loved doors! They hold mystery and intrigue as one can only wonder what goes on behind a closed door. Sometimes a door would open and instead of seeing a passageway, there would be a wonderful courtyard or a lavish ornate room. Doors come in all manner of shapes and sizes and often depict history and culture.
Doors #1 come about when I had no more room on my walls for holiday photos so I decided to represent many of the places we had been through the doors. What I found was that pretty much every person coming to the house would comment and ask to purchase it.
#1 contained many photos of myself or my husband standing in the doorways so it was not something I wanted to sell. However, I promised over and over again to create Doors #2 and make it available for purchase.
Behind Closed Doors, #2 is printed on quality canvas using pigment inks and is sealed and stretched, ready to hang. I also provide a framing option (please contact me for colour and pricing options) if the purchaser would like to have the canvases within a box frame/shadow box (however the artwork does not require an external frame and the image is wrapped around the edge and it is ready to hang).
This artwork has a limited edition print run and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
