Artwork Description

The grass trees on the sand dunes of Stradbroke Island influenced several paintings in my Charcoal and Ash exhibition. This painting is not representative of a particular vista, but it embodies the vibe after the fires that swept the island.

I have painted all my life and I am fascinated by the quirky things that can sometimes happen, both real and imagined. I love the grand expanse of the Australian landscape, the pure spirit of animals and amusing juxtapositions. It is important that art is fun. It is meant to bring joy to the creator and the viewer.

I enjoy the printmaking process, especially linoprints, etchings and collographs.

I also paint in oils on board, mixed media, watercolour and acrylic on canvas. I have illustrated book covers and taught art to school children. I have exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions.
