Blooming Garden No: 1

A colourful yet calming abstract painting to brighten the walls and bring a little joy, Blooming Garden No:1 has been a favourite of mine, hanging in my studio, and I'm finally getting around to adding it (and others) to my Bluethumb Art page!
You see while I love to paint, NEED to paint, I am not so good at keeping up with the admin, but a ruptured disc in my lower back has forced me to pause painting and I'm currently needing to spend alot of time horizontal, which means time to catch up on adding work to Bluehumb!

A colourful modern abstract painting in pastel pinks, pale blue, grey & white. Reminiscent of a view through a gate into a flower garden. This original art work has been painted using artist quality acrylic paint, on finest pure cotton stretched canvas. The painting has been done in very thin layers of paint, scraped on with a fine painting spatula, giving a light, airy, tranquil effect.

This is a one of a kind original painting and wont be available as prints.

Hello! Welcome to my Bluethumb page!

I'm a Melbourne based artist, who has always created, and my artistic practice has become a full time pursuit in the last 8 or so years.

Here on my Bluethumb page you will find some of my colourful abstract works, expressive and evocative, made purely from a place of memory and emotion. I have also included some of my semi-abstract landscapes, and these are made with an environmental perspective in mind, my interpretation of the bush where I live and which is my happy place. My commitment is to raise further awareness of the need to protect our amazing natural environment.
