Rainforest Dreaming

The tangle of the bush in the rainforest that surrounded the property where I grew up, just outside the Southern Highlands of NSW is the inspiration for this piece. This was the kind of view on our bush walks, looking through the trees, ducking under low branches and carefully stepping over twisted roots. Under the dense canopy with dappled sun light showing the way.

Painted using artist quality acrylic polymer and ink, in an upcycled canvas. The painting has a wire across the back and is ready to hang. The edges of the gallery wrapped canvas have been painted to negate the need for an external frame, although one could be fitted if desired.

Hello! Welcome to my Bluethumb page!

I'm a Melbourne based artist, who has always created, and my artistic practice has become a full time pursuit in the last 8 or so years.

Here on my Bluethumb page you will find some of my colourful abstract works, expressive and evocative, made purely from a place of memory and emotion. I have also included some of my semi-abstract landscapes, and these are made with an environmental perspective in mind, my interpretation of the bush where I live and which is my happy place. My commitment is to raise further awareness of the need to protect our amazing natural environment.
