Self taught, I work in soft pastel and charcoal in a semi contemporary style and subject matters.
I haven't uploaded many works to this account yet; this is just an experiment in how this platform works; but please follow my Instagram www.instagram.com/cintsartspace for regular artworks
and feel free to contact me there if you have any questions.
Why soft pastel?!- The visceral way to quickly draw on the paper and feel the soft pastel as an extension of my fingertips was a welcoming feeling when I first tried pastels a few years ago! I've been hooked ever since, and I am so lucky that I draw quite quickly! I love the ability to blend with the layering of the pastels, or with your fingers, I also REALLY love the various levels of texture you can get with this medium, and how paper colour or choice can have a dramatic effect on the outcome.
My inspiration and themes are varied as you will be able to see, but ultimately a piece that I find to be of the most value is usually created from a memory, feeling, experience or story; that I hope would resonate with the viewer also. I like to draw what others may consider slightly non conventional, or 'not your usual soft pastel artist' (that I would stereotype to be florals or landscapes)
Most pieces are A3 or under in size.
I work part time as police Officer and am a mother to twin dragons (naaa, they're just regular twins)
Meeting, discussing, learning from other established artists holds me in captivation with every conversation. I yearn to learn from artists.
I am a member of Geelong Illustrators Group and regularly exhibit there.
