Artist bio:
I am a full time artist from Regional Victoria, the rural town of Mildura, specialising in contemporary acrylic artworks. My creative practice has become an integral, fundamental part of my daily routine. Working with acrylic paint as an intuitive, reflective practice, provides a source of constant inspiration as well as drawing inspiration from my current surroundings, and what is happening both within and around me.
I have worked on large scale art projects including "Me & Uoo Uoo" the Royal Children's Hospital's 150th anniversary, and the RSPCA's 150th anniversary "Wombat in the room" as well as gaining industry recognition through winning the Fortyfivedownstairs 2021 ‘Emerging Artist Award’, a nationally recognised award which promotes the early-career works of emerging artists.
I create recognisable, abstract acrylic paintings aptly named for their bold colour palette and joyful composition, depicting aspects of everyday life from the humble milk carton to the nostalgic cassette tape, familiar foods and everything in between. My pieces often feature pops of citrus, local produce, spending time with friends and family, or the ceremony of sharing a meal. My intuitive approach, together with my keen exploration of technique, colour and composition, I share a unique story with every piece I create. I relish the opportunity to apply deeper meaning and an underlying narrative for my audience.
