Building Memories

This painting is of a sand castle at the beach. I often spend the whole time at the beach diffing pools and making sandcastles for my kids. Like the sandcastle I figure childhood doesnt last forever. Just as the sand castle is susceptible to the tides of time, childhood's innocence and wonder are fragile and short-lived, making every moment a gift to be treasured.

Painting before I could talk.
I am happiest when I paint. I can often paint for hours at a time without realising it (which can be a problem at times, especially when I forget to have lunch.) I enjoy painting portraits and figures although I do branch out from time to time. I feel that painting should be about play and having fun. It is all about the process.
