Clouds over Glenrock lagoon

The light was soft and the lagoon was still despite the rough sea. I'd been wanting to paint the lagoon for a while and was happy to have the chance. I nearly 'lost' this painting a few times but managed to bring it back. I like the colours the most and the glimpse of the crashing waves just visible in contrast to the quiet, pale lagoon.

I am inspired by form, light, colour and pattern. I paint and draw because I enjoy it and want to record what I see that’s beautiful. I work as well and find that small paintings help me to keep painting in the gaps between my job and family life. Small paintings are also easy to post! I complete each painting in one session, always working from life.
