We planted a Jacaranda tree at the front of our house when our daughter was born and our neighbour across the road planted one the same day. This year they are both blooming so well for her! It has created a lovely synchronicity in our street, like we are connected through purple petals each spring. I took a little sprig and did a few drawings of it in different vessels before deciding on the jam jar which gives it a homely, comforting feel.
