A family hiking adventure and a dare from my brother led to my first swim in Lake Alta, a glacial lake located at 1800m elevation in the Remarkables in New Zealand - an epic experience and a PB for my coldest swim and greatest altitude!
This lake is used for Antarctica New Zealand diver pre deployment training so that gives you an indication to how cold it was!
The main feature is the grandeur of the steep snow capped mountains created with layers of dark blues, blue greys and titanium white contrasted against the deep turquoise lake and subtle reflections and glimpses of the waning evening light.
This artwork is an acrylic painting on 380gsm pure cotton canvas. Finished with a Gloss varnish to bring out the depth of colour and to protect the artwork from UV rays. Edges painted.
It comes with a signed certificate of authenticity and is also signed and dated on the back of the painting. Ready to hang.
