‘Aqueous Bloom Life Field XIX’ continues with my fascination in the sublime of micro-worlds, biology and sea-life, exploring the most minuscule fragments of the universe. The circular organic motifs and the organic cluster patterns allude to cellular life forms, dainty aquatic-life and to the visceral otherworldliness of the building blocks of life like cells, amoeba, and molecules and as the title suggests, the effervescence contained within the waters of life. The circles can be viewed as minuscule cell life just as easily as sea-life forms in a underwater reef like jellyfish, anemones, algae or bioluminescent organisms. The aim was to create something universal, sublime and beautiful yet also possessing the feelings of fragility and tranquillity.
Many viewers feel a gentle freedom from this series of paintings. Uplifting and peaceful.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jacquelyn Stephens is a Melbourne based artist who has been successfully exhibiting her paintings for over 20 years since completing a BFA in Painting at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts. She has gained an extensive knowledge of Art, quality art materials, techniques and theory from working closely within the arts industries and in her own art practice. Jacquelyn works full time from her studio on the Melbourne fringe. She has had several successful solo and group exhibitions in commercial galleries and artists run spaces. Her paintings can be seen in many media publications and are held in private collections worldwide. Many of the key themes in her work have been informed by her interest in water, nature, science, the environment and the domain of medicine.
